HAL, Safran Seal Deal To Develop Aravalli Engines For Multi-Role Military Helicopters

HAL and French firm Safran Helicopter Engines signed a contract to develop the Aravalli engine for India’s future military helicopters. The 3,500-4,000 shaft horsepower engine will power HAL’s IMRH and naval DBMRH projects. Developed through a 50:50 joint venture, production is planned in Tumakuru, Karnataka, with completion targeted by 2032-33, officials said.
